Day 1
Start your Brazilian adventure with an early morning arrival in Rio. After checking in at your beachfront hotel in Ipanema, take some time to rest and acclimate. Your first taste of Rio begins at the magnificent Botanical Garden, a stunning 340-acre park home to more than 6,500 species and towering imperial palm trees. Next, discover the famous Selaron Steps, a colorful mosaic stairway that has become one of Rio's most distinctive landmarks, decorated with tiles from over 60 countries. End your afternoon exploring the charming Santa Teresa neighborhood, a bohemian district known for its winding streets, artistic atmosphere, and spectacular views over the city. For football fans, we can arrange an optional evening visit to the legendary Maracanã Stadium if there's a game scheduled - there's nothing quite like experiencing Brazilian football passion firsthand!
Day 2
Rise early to beat the crowds at Rio's most famous landmark, Christ the Redeemer. Standing 98 feet tall atop Corcovado Mountain, this Art Deco masterpiece offers breathtaking 360-degree views over the city, beaches, and mountains. While the morning light is perfect for photos, the early start helps avoid the midday crowds. Continue your day in Tijuca National Park, the world's largest urban forest and a green oasis in the heart of Rio. Here, you'll hike through lush Atlantic rainforest, discovering hidden waterfalls and spotting local wildlife. As night falls, immerse yourself in Brazilian culture with an authentic samba experience at a traditional gafieira (dance hall), where locals gather to dance and celebrate - don't worry if you don't know the steps, the welcoming atmosphere makes it easy to join in!
Day 3
Start your day experiencing the famous Carioca beach culture at Ipanema Beach, one of the world's most iconic stretches of sand. Watch locals playing volleyball and football, try the refreshing coconut water, and take in the vibrant atmosphere that makes Rio's beaches so special. Walk along the shoreline to reach Copacabana Beach, passing by the historic Copacabana Fort with its interesting military museum and spectacular views of the bay. As the day winds down, head to Sugar Loaf Mountain for what many consider Rio's most spectacular experience: watching the sunset from the cable car or summit. As the city lights begin to twinkle and the sun dips behind the mountains, you'll understand why Rio is called the 'Marvelous City'.
Day 4
Begin your transition to Brazil's kitesurfing paradise with a morning flight to Fortaleza, followed by a scenic drive to Cumbuco. This charming beach town, located just 45 minutes from the airport, will be your home for the next few days. After checking into your beachfront pousada, meet with our local kite team for equipment fitting and a thorough briefing about the spot's conditions. The rest of the afternoon is yours to explore the village, stroll along the beach, or get your first taste of the consistent trade winds. In the evening, join us for a welcome dinner where we'll discuss the week's wind forecast and various activities available.
Days 5-8
Spend four full days immersed in Cumbuco's perfect kitesurfing conditions. Each morning starts with a delicious breakfast at your pousada before heading to the beach. Choose between the calm waters of Cauipe Lagoon, ideal for beginners and freestyle practice, or the ocean waves perfect for more advanced riders. The lagoon's butter-flat water makes it one of Brazil's best spots for learning and progressing, while the ocean offers fun wave riding opportunities with reliable side-onshore winds.
Beyond kitesurfing, Cumbuco offers plenty of activities: take a buggy tour through massive sand dunes, visit nearby virgin beaches, or simply relax at one of the beach bars. The village itself is full of restaurants serving fresh seafood and local specialties, and the laid-back atmosphere makes it easy to meet other kiters from around the world.
Day 9
Take advantage of the morning winds for a final session in Cumbuco before beginning your journey to Jericoacoara. The five-hour transfer is an adventure in itself, combining paved roads and off-road driving through stunning coastal landscapes. Arrive in Preá in the late afternoon, where you'll check into your boutique hotel overlooking the endless beach. As the day winds down, take a short trip to the magical village of Jericoacoara, where sandy streets, live music, and the famous sunset dune await. Watch the sun sink into the ocean from atop the dune - a daily ritual that brings together travelers from around the world.
Days 10-12
Experience three full days in one of Brazil's most unique kitesurfing destinations. Preá Beach offers perfect side-onshore winds and endless downwind possibilities. For advanced riders, we can organize exciting downwind trips to Jericoacoara, while beginners and intermediates can enjoy the wide, uncrowded beach with consistent conditions.
When you're not on the water, discover the natural wonders of the area: take a 4x4 tour to the stunning Tatajuba and Paradise Lagoons, where fresh water meets giant sand dunes, or explore the charming village of Jericoacoara. As the sun sets, the village comes alive with music spilling from bars, restaurants serving fresh catches of the day, and people gathering in the square to practice capoeira. The unique blend of natural beauty, perfect winds, and vibrant nightlife makes these days unforgettable.
Day 13
Make the most of your last morning in Preá with an early session, catching the perfect wind conditions one final time. After lunch, begin your journey back to civilization with a transfer to Fortaleza for your evening flight to Rio. Spend your final night in the city reflecting on two weeks of incredible experiences, perhaps over a farewell dinner at one of Copacabana's renowned restaurants.
Day 14
Depending on your flight time, enjoy a final morning in Rio before heading to the airport. Take with you memories of perfect waves, consistent winds, vibrant culture, and new friendships made along the way.
